Universiti Brunei
Darussalam accommodates more than 300 academic staff and 2,800
students in seven faculties, namely Arts and Social Sciences,
Business, Economics and Policies Studies, Sultan Haji Omar Ali
Saifuddien Institute of Islamic Studies, Science, Sultan Hassanal
Bolkiah Institute of Education, Academy of Brunei Studies and
Institute of Medicine. The Institute of Medicine, Universiti Brunei
Darussalam was inaugurated in September 2000.

The School of Medicine, The University of Queensland Australia |

| The School of Medicine at the University of Queensland was founded in 1936. The School of Medicine extends throughout Queensland Australia and overseas with major sites in Brisbane, Brunei and North America. Since 2002, close to 300 medical students have completed a clinical rotation at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in Brunei. On the 15th February 2010 The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and The University of Queensland signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation. Students from the School of Medicine in Year 3 of The MBBS course have the option of undertaking their eight weeks of Surgery Rotation which include two weeks in orthopaedic surgery at RIPAS Hospital, Brunei Darussalam. During the 2 week period in the department of orthopaedic surgery the students attend ward rounds, outpatient clinics and operating theatre sessions. Lectures based on the curriculum of the school are delivered during their postings within the department. |
